An early 20th century Austrian gilt metal and enamel windmill jewellery music box, hand painted enamel panels of romantic courting couples in a medieval pastoral landscapes. The windmill blades with conforming decoration. The working music box to the gilt hexagonal base and is guarded by a gilt beaded chain. Winding key the base, the blades rotate but are not mechanical. A Jizhou 'Tortoiseshell' glazed jar/vase in 13th century Southern Song style, with cylindrical swollen sides rounding up towards the rim, four incipient lug handles at the shoulder, covered inside and out with a rich dark brown glaze liberally splashed in translucent golden glaze in imitation of mottled tortoiseshell, the glaze ending short of the knife-pared foot to expose the buff-coloured body.
