A Victorian marble bust of Augustus Stevens signed J E Boehm (1834-1890), 1874, modelled as a bearded gentleman wearing a waistcoat and jabot, inscribed to the reverse 'In Grateful Memory to Augustus Stevens by J.E Boehm 1874', raised on a stepped socle; together with a veined marble plinth, the bust. Height 73 cm, the plinth. Height 104 cm. Note: Edwin Augustus Stevens (1795-1868) was an American industrialist and inventor and founder of the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken new Jersey
