Collection of whaling equipment, i) English harpoon gun; circa 1820; With two harpoons set up with spliced rope ready for use. no maker's name, English manufacture, Birmingham proof, percussion muzzle loader, single centre hammer, twin percussion nipples (musket size), lanyard trigger release, hole through stock for safety pin (missing) to secure trigger, steel staple in stock right side to secure the safety pin, rounded cover plate of gun metal over the lock mechanism, hinged to left hand side and locking device to the right, damascus twist barrel, 4 cm smooth bore, gun metal steel knob front sight, no back sight, weight is 28kg including swivel
